What mobile honestly cannot do
We would rather say this up front than turn up and disappoint you. Three jobs need shop equipment and no mobile operation can do them properly:
- Bent rim straightening — needs a hydraulic press and a runout gauge. See wheel straightening.
- Powder coating — powder cures in an oven at around 200°C. Anyone powder coating in a driveway is not powder coating.
- Machined / diamond-cut faces — those concentric grooves come off a lathe and cannot be recreated by hand.
If we get to your wheel and find it is bent or needs re-machining, we will tell you on the spot rather than paper over it.
How to tell before you book
Two quick checks. Does the car vibrate at speed? That suggests a bend, not just cosmetic damage. Does the wheel face have fine concentric machined lines? That is a diamond-cut face. If either is yes, tell us when you call so we can scope it honestly.
