A small job with a disproportionate effect — colour behind an open-spoke wheel changes how the whole car reads. It is also one of the two things we can do at your kerb in Las Vegas.

Colours

Red, yellow, black, blue, orange, silver and custom matches. The two that come up most: red behind a dark wheel, and black when the goal is to make an ordinary caliper disappear rather than stand out. Black is under-rated — it tidies the look of a car without shouting.

What makes it last

Calipers live in the worst environment on the car: repeated heat cycling to a few hundred degrees, constant brake dust, road salt and water. Three things separate a job that holds up from one that browns and flakes within a year:

• Proper degreasing and prep. Brake dust and old grease are the usual reason coatings lift.
• Genuine high-temperature coating, not ordinary aerosol enamel.
• Masking discipline — nothing on the pads, the rotor face, the bleed nipple or the piston seals. This is the part rushed jobs get wrong, and it is a safety item, not a cosmetic one.

Two ways to book it

• Orange County — at the Costa Mesa shop, usually alongside a wheel job since the wheels are already off.
• Las Vegas — our mobile unit does caliper painting on site, at your home, hotel or office. No lift required.

Best time to do it

While the wheels are already off for repair or powder coating. The labour overlaps almost entirely, so doing both at once costs meaningfully less than booking them separately.
