Car wraps in Costa Mesa change the colour of a vehicle without touching the paint — and protect what is underneath while the film is on. Removed properly, the original finish comes back unmarked.
What we wrap
- Full colour change — gloss, satin, matte, metallic and colour-shift
- Partial wraps — roof, bonnet, mirrors, accents
- Chrome delete in vinyl — see chrome delete
- Paint protection on high-impact areas
Why wrap instead of respray
- Reversible. This is the main one. Going back to original for resale or lease return is a removal, not a respray.
- It protects. The film takes the stone chips and light scratching instead of your paint.
- Finishes paint cannot do — satin, matte and colour-shift are far more achievable in vinyl.
- Resale. A well-kept original paint job under a wrap is worth more than a resprayed car in a non-standard colour.
What determines the result
Two things, and neither is the vinyl brand. Preparation — the car is decontaminated and, where needed, corrected first, because film telegraphs whatever is underneath. And disassembly — handles, badges, lights and trim come off so the vinyl wraps into the recesses rather than being cut at the edge. Cut edges are where a wrap starts lifting a year later.
You can tell a good wrap by the edges you cannot find.
Before you book
Wrap goes over sound paint. If there is peeling lacquer, rust or previous poor bodywork, that gets addressed first — film will not hide it and will not stick reliably to it. We will tell you honestly when a car needs paint and body work before a wrap makes sense.
Common questions
How long does a car wrap last?
Typically five to seven years for a quality film that is looked after, less with constant sun exposure and no maintenance. Southern California sun is hard on vinyl, so a covered park makes a real difference.
Will a wrap damage my paint?
No — on sound factory paint it protects it, and removes cleanly. The risk is with previously resprayed or already failing paint, which can lift on removal. We check before quoting.
How long does the work take?
A full colour change is generally several days, because proper disassembly and preparation take longer than the vinyl itself.
Can I wrap just the roof or bonnet?
Yes. Partial wraps — roof, bonnet, mirrors, accents — are common and much cheaper than a full colour change.
